Maxpaddle is a young and upcoming internationally recognised company. Our aim is to manufacture the best quality possible at the most reasonable price, while using the latest technology. We also strive to provide excellent customer service.
Specialist Design, Engineering & Fabrication of Composite Paddles, Shafts, Joiner & Carbon accessories
Maxpaddle is home of the 'skinny' shaft and Solid composite (SCS) paddle blades, we are continuously developing our products and are proud to work directly with the highest caliber athletes. We strive to produce the best products and our prototype facility is constantly pushing the envelope.
Paddlers can choose either option but the SKINNY shaft is only recommended for certain paddlers. The skinny shaft has solved all the elbow and carpal tunnel problems that we know of. It is considered an exotic choice but it allows the human hand to wrap around the shaft by 7.5mm or more meaningfully a full 34.6 degrees further than on the standard shaft.
Great news from MaxPaddle.com !!
Maxpaddle has several new paddles which will be designed and launched this year.
The Canoe Polo paddle is now finished and in production as well as the Touring paddle.
The new crank shaft has also been redesigned to suite using it on both White Water and Wing blades. This is almost finished and will be available soon
Our C1 and Stand-up paddle are now finished
The future in River paddles !! Canoeists are already familiar with Kevlar, it is often used on canoes because of its excellent physical properties which provide toughness and strength. Kevlar is also the most affordable of the "exotic" materials.
Using Formula 1 Powerboat technology MaxPaddle has developed Kevlar blades that are tough and strong. MaxPaddle is the only RSA manufacturer able to make this jump because of its unique "Solid composite construction ( SCS )" which typically provides 300-400% more structural fibers than comparative cored blades. Maxpaddle SCS blades are totally proven having won the worlds toughest races including Dusi 05 & 2010 K2 Men’s and Woman’s, Berg 05 through to 2010, King of the Bay 05 winter Surf Ski series 05 and Gold Medals at the recent 05 World Marathon Champs. For paddlers this means World beating blade shapes built with leading edge technologies and materials. Paddlers will enjoy unique blades with legendary Maxpaddle durability and affordability.
The way we build our Racing Paddles
Maxpaddle racing blades are purpose built to skinny (26cm OD) or standard (28.5cm OD) shafts and can be considered all muscle and no fat.
They are SCS (Solid Composite Construction) and have no core whatsoever. Using our unique technology, we have a range of blades with optimum performance. We believe in absolute solutions and build for maximum performance, maximum durability. Our blades are generally below 280grams each, providing maximum strength to weight with carbon stringers in appropriate places for tuned flex characteristics. The Leading edge thickness is beefy and this solves almost all breakage problems. Because the blades are capable of flex, they can absorb a lot of punishment but don’t lack efficiency because of the flex. Our uniquely correct angled shaft end system has been engineered to strengthen the neck and produce the best possible stress distribution through the blade. The new Surf Ski range of paddles have a extremely high density foam core which is only 1.5mm thick, allowing us to make a much lighter and stiffer blade. When we say our paddles are full carbon then they are, no structural glass at all, 100% Carbon. In our Mid Carbon race, Carbon Kevlar and Kevlar blades we use a unique glass and construct the blade in a sandwich technique which allows us to optimize the stiffness and strength as well as keeping the weight down. There is not much more to say about how we build paddles except that they have proven themselves by winning many prestigious paddling events every year for the last 6 years.
