Gold is a colour in your future !! Maxpaddle has found a way to make Kevlar blades!!
Canoeists are already familiar with Kevlar, it is often used on canoes because of its excellent physical properties which provide toughness and strength. Kevlar is also the most affordable of the "exotic" materials.
Using Formula 1 Powerboat technology Maxpaddle has developed Kevlar blades that are tough and strong. Maxpaddle is the only RSA manufacturer able to make this jump because of its unique "Solid composite construction ( SCS )" which typically provides 300-400% more structural fibres than comparative cored blades. Maxpaddle SCS blades are totally proven having won the worlds toughest races including Dusi 05 Berg 05 King of the Bay 05 winter Surfski series 05 and Gold Medals at the recent 05 World Champs.
For paddlers this means World beating blade shapes built with leading edge technologies and materials. Paddlers will enjoy unique blades with legendary Maxpaddle durability and affordability.
Introductory special R850.00 complete. This includes a split adjustable glass shaft and econo bag. A perfect combination for all disciplines.

Maxpaddle racing blades are purpose built to skinny shafts and can be considered all muscle and no fat.
They are SCS (Solid Composite Construction) and have no core whatsoever. Using our unique technologies, we have a range of blades with optimum performance.
We believe in absolute solutions and build for maximum performance, maximum durability.
Our blades are generally below 280gm each, providing maximum strength to weight with carbon stringers in appropriate places for tuned flex characteristics.
This allows the blade to feel right as well as toned and alive.
Leading edge thickness is beefy and this solves almost all breakage problems. Because the blades are capable of flex, they can absorb a lot of punishment and are none the worse for it.
Our uniquely correct angled shaft end system has been engineered to strengthen the neck and produce the best possible stress distribution through the blade.
The Maxpaddle joiner has been designed specifically for paddlers. We believe it to be the finest joiner available.
The unique design of this joiner allows it to grip tightly enough that World Champion Hank McGregor has used the joiner for the 2004 Dusi, winning the winter surfski series and crashing down the 2004 Berg without the joiner missing a beat.
The same winning (and now totally optimised) design allows for easy and exact feather and length adjustments to be made without the need for spanners.
Maxpaddle.com produces two shafts:
- 28.5mm Outside diameter and 26mm inside diameter - the 'STANDARD' shaft
- 26mm Outside diameter - the 'SKINNY'
Paddlers can choose either option but the SKINNY is recommended.
The skinny shaft has solved all the elbow and carpal tunnel problems that we know of. It is considered an exotic choice but it allows the human hand to wrap around the shaft by 7.5mm or more meaningfully a full 34.6 degrees further than on the standard shaft.
This means a huge increase in grip for the same effort and athletes in the know switch as soon as they understand and experience these benefits
.
However, if you have very large hands, the standard shaft may be better for you.
Our shafts are carbon/glass and are developed to have as similar a bend profile as possible.
Their performance is professionally tested by paddlers and laboratory equipment. These results allow us to engineer our shafts exactly to paddlers' correct needs. The shafts have optimum flex and maximum durability with maximum strength to weight.
The shafts are of the finest quality and break at over 2,600Nm - well beyond paddling parameters.
Maxpaddle shafts have an optimum bend and a highly crush-resistant design to give a total paddle weight under 850gm which makes the paddle a light, tough and reliable unit
We prefer you to support our agents and resellers but if you feel you have particular requirements we will service you directly. We stand by our products and address all manufacture-related issues.
Due to the nature of river paddling, not all breakages can be considered normal usage. We do however strive to build the toughest blades available and appreciate your feedback on the subject.
Dealers are welcome as we are now vat registered.
